Thanks to an eleventh-hour offer from Nextel Cup team owner James Finch, Reed Sorenson will have the opportunity to drive the No. 09 Miccosukee Dodge in the season finale race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Sorenson expects a second Nextel Cup start will help better prepare him for his upcoming Nextel Cup Rookie of the Year campaign driving for Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates.
place qualifying effort in the 2004 Ford 300, Sorenson finished the race in fourth place. It was his first top-five finish in NASCAR competition and the perfect segue in of Sorenson's second NASCAR Nextel Cup start.

Event Qualifying Information - Qualifying for the Ford 400 takes place on Saturday, November 19 at 1:00 pm Eastern.

"I just really appreciate the opportunity to run the Cup car for James (Finch)," said Sorenson. "I'm looking forward to running well in Miami so that we're heading into 2006 on a high note, but really it's just an honor to run the Miccosukee car since it's the biggest race of the year for the Tribe."

Sorenson's follow up to his October Cup debut in Atlanta seemed destined for a three-month postponement, but Finch believed the talented 19-year old driver would show well for the Miccosukee Indian Tribe, the Florida based sponsorthe No. 09 Dodge for a partial schedule in the Nextel Cup Series. Sorenson had previously demonstrated his talents to Finch; driving the No. 1 Yellow Transportation Dodge to a top ten finish in what was then Sorenson's second career NASCAR Busch Series start in 2004.

"It's kind of cool to think that my second Cup start will be for the same team owner that gave me my second Busch start," said Sorenson. "Since I ran so well in James' Busch car, I feel like I can carry that success over to the Cup side in Miami."

The likelihood of success at Homestead-Miami Speedway is supported by Sorenson's outstanding performance in this year's NASCAR Busch Series competition, as well as last year's showing in the Busch Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. After delivering a solid seventh
Reed will be doing double duty at Homestead.
