SORENSON SCORES FIRST BUSCH SERIES TOP-10 FINISH OF 2007 AT RICHMOND
Reed Sorenson parlayed a 10th-place NASCAR Busch Series qualifying effort into his first top-10 finish of the year at Richmond International Raceway Friday night with an eighth-place result in the No. 41 Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit Dodge.

Sorenson and the Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit crew managed to keep their noses clean throughout the 250-lap event, running as high as fourth on Lap 86 before settling into the top 10 for the remainder of the race.  While the race might have seemed uneventful for the No. 41 Dodge, that’s was exactly what Sorenson and crew chief Brian Pattie had hoped for oddly enough as the team finished on the lead lap and completed each of the 250 tours of the .075-mile oval for the first time in 2007.  Sorenson’s teammate Juan Pablo Montoya finished 11th.

With the result, the No. 41 team moved up six positions to 21st in the overall Busch Series owner standings, with 1,045 total points.  The team is just four points out of the top-20.

Up next, the No. 41 team will head to Darlington Raceway to run the Diamond Hill Plywood 200 on Friday, May 11.  The race will broadcast on ESPN2 (LIVE, 8 p.m. ET).

REED SORENSON QUOTES ON RICHMOND:  “We had a solid result tonight, and we did what we had to do to bring the car back in one piece. The car unloaded fast and during the race we didn’t have to make any major adjustments. We just tuned it a little over our three pit stops and I think we had a car strong enough to run in the top five all night. We’ve had a difficult start to the Busch Series season, so this is a welcomed top-10 finish. ”
