Reed Sorenson and the No. 41 Target Dodge Team Facts:
Drive 4 Design:  Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) is inviting NASCAR fans to turn their ideas into reality with the “Drive For Design Contest.” This new and innovative competition is encouraging motorsports enthusiasts to create their own unique fan gear, from which one talented winner’s creation will be produced in partnership with Motorsports Authentics and sold this fall at the CGRFS Concord, N.C., gift shop.  In addition to watching their t-shirt and hat designs come to life, the grand prize winner of the contest will also receive a Charlotte Racing Weekend Trip for two this upcoming October.  To learn more about the contest details and to enter, go to www.chipganassiracing.com and click on the “Drive for Design Contest” button.  There will be links providing rules and regulations for the competition, as well as downloadable t-shirt and hat templates.  Entries can be submitted online or by postal mail. 
Golden State Natives: Two members of the Target team hail from California.  Crew chief Jimmy Elledge (Redding, Calif.) and shock specialist Roger Parkinson (San Diego).  Prior to joining CGRFS in 2003, Elledge served as crew chief for Andy Petree Racing from 1999-2002.  He made his first trip to Victory Lane with the late Bobby Hamilton at Talladega Superspeedway on April 22, 2001.  Parkinson has been building shocks since 1976 and began working in NASCAR full time in 1993.  Prior to joining CGRFS in 2003 his NASCAR experience includes working for Bill Elliott Racing, Ohlins Racing Shocks and Andy Petree Racing.

Happy Birthday Dan Wheldon:  Sorenson’s Target teammate and IndyCar Series driver Dan Wheldon will celebrate his 29th  birthday this Friday, June 22.  This is Wheldon’s second season driving for Target Chip Ganassi Racing in the IndyCar Series and to date he has amassed three poles and four wins.  Additionally he is the 2005 series champion and he won the 89th running of the Indianapolis 500 that same year.

Points Update:  The Target team moved up one position to 24th in the overall series standings after the last race at Michigan.  The team sits 123 points out of 20th position and 353 out of 12th – the final transfer position for the Chase for the NEXTEL Cup. 

Chassis: Crew chief Jimmy Elledge and the Target team have selected chassis #739 for the race at Michigan.  This car has no previous starts.
