Sorenson Wraps Up the 2008 Season at Homestead-Miami Speedway
Reed Sorenson started ninth in his last race behind the wheel on the No.41 Target Dodge at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday.  Faced with handling issues and a cut tire, Sorenson was relegated to a 31st-place finish in the final event of the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) season.
On Friday, Sorenson qualified in ninth on the 1.5-mile oval.  Sorenson and team had a positive outlook for the 267-lap main event, but luck was not on their side.  The 22-year-old maintained a position in the top 20 for the first 50 laps.  Sorenson radioed crew chief Donnie Wingo the car needed more grip.  During the first green-flag pit stops, the Target team made a track bar adjustment, four tire change and added fuel to the Target Dodge.

The first of seven cautions came out on lap 69, the team elected to pit again for another slight adjustment.  Sorenson fell a lap down to the leaders by lap 114 and continued to battle for the Free Pass for the remainder of the race. Sorenson suffered a cut tire on lap 198, bringing out the caution.  Sorenson managed to drive his car to pit road without falling another lap down.  The Target Dodge restarted 33rd on lap 202.  Despite several cautions and a fuel-mileage ending, Sorenson crossed the finish line 31st.

The Target Team wraps up the 2008 season 32nd in NSCS owner points.  Sorenson finished 32nd in the NSCS driver’s points.  Teammate Montoya finished the 2008 season in the 25th-place standing in both the NSCS driver and owner’s points respectively.
