2nd Annual Allstate Drive for Our Kids Scheduled for April 2, 2009

Nashville, Tenn., (March 3, 2009) –The Our Kids Center of Middle Tennessee will host the 2nd Annual Allstate Drive for Our Kids racing themed charity event on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Nashville SuperSpeedway. This unique event took place for the first time last year and raised over $109,000 helping to make the Our Kids center of Middle Tennessee more financially secure than ever before.
The Allstate Drive for Our Kids consists of riding experiences in real stock cars at top speeds with Andretti/Gordon driving instructors, a pit crew challenge for all to participate, a victory lane photo booth, food and beverage and goodie bags. For a limited number of participants, Premium Rides with some of NASCAR’s biggest names in the sport will be available. This “once in a lifetime” opportunity will give the premium ticket holder the thrill of taking three “hot laps” around the Nashville SuperSpeedway with one of NASCAR’s stars. Local racing favorite Willie Allen is confirmed for the event, as well as NASCAR Sprint Cup Driver, Reed Sorenson.
Local Nashville radio personality, author and racing veteran Liz Allison is the founder of the event and will be co-chairing the event again this year with the help of Kim Williams. “I am so honored to help raise money and awareness for such a special center for children. The love and dedication the Our Kids staff shows to every child that walks through the door is truly heart-warming” said Liz Allison. “Child sexual abuse is a real problem and we need to make sure a place like Our Kids is there to treat the most vulnerable children in Middle Tennessee. The Allstate Drive for Our Kids is all about bringing my love of NASCAR racing together with a true gem; The Our Kids Center.”
Drive for Our Kids is a primarily sponsorship driven event with individual packages also available for purchase. Sponsorships include Allstate Insurance Company, WGFX-FM and WKDF-FM, Pepsi, Daily’s, Ford Motor Credit, Allstate Drive Safely, Tenvision, Robins & Morton, SunTrust Bank, Purity Dairies, Bradley Coatings, Inc., Sherwin Williams, and many more. Sponsorship and individual packages are still available, including premium packages.

Founded in 1987 by the Junior League of Nashville, Our Kids is a nonprofit organization that provides expert medical evaluations and crisis counseling for children and families who are struggling with the issue of child sexual abuse.
