Notes of Interest:

· Reed Sorenson is a previous winner at Michigan International Speedway!  In only his second career ARCA Racing Series start, Sorenson started the June, 2004 race at MIS from the outside pole and went on to win the 100-lap event!

· Sorenson and the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) head to Michigan International Speedway (MIS) with the “New Car.” Drivers and teams will participate in an extended test session on Thursday afternoon at the two-mile track. This weekend will mark the second appearance of the “new car.” At Daytona International Speedway, Sorenson was forced to a back-up car when the Dollar General Camry fell victim to a blown left rear tire after running over a block of lead that another car had lost from its frame rail on the track during practice. He had driven the Dollar General Toyota from his 42nd starting position up to the 13th spot when the right front tire exploded in the final laps, relegating him to a 22nd –place finish.

· Sorenson’s NNS Stats at MIS:  In his four previous Nationwide Series starts at MIS, Sorenson has one top-10 finish and has led for 15 laps. He earned his career-best start of fourth on two occasions, in his NNS track debut on August 20, 2005 and again in August, 2007.

· By the Numbers at MIS!  Sorenson ranks in the top-10 in several of NASCAR’s Loop Data categories.  These categories include:  Green Flag Passes (2nd), Laps in Top-15 (9th), Laps Led (9th), Passes on Frontstretch (2nd), Passes on Backstretch (1st), Passes in Turn 2 (6th) and Passes in Turn 4 (1st).

· Defending Pole Award winners:  Last season, Brian Vickers and the No. 32 Dollar General team claimed the Coors Light Pole Award at MIS. He went on to take the pole for the Sprint Cup event that same weekend, becoming the only driver in the history of the Brooklyn, Michigan-based track to sweep the pole positions in a NASCAR double-header weekend.

· Chassis #106 heads to the Irish Hills of Michigan!  As the NASCAR Nationwide Series gets set to make its second start with the “New Car”, the Dollar General team heads to MIS this weekend with #106, a brand new car in the Braun Racing stable.

· The Dollar General team is SIXTH in the Nationwide Series Championship Owner’s Points.

“I’m looking forward to going to Michigan with the Dollar General team. MIS is a fun track to race at. You can run anywhere, which makes for great racing. This weekend will be the first time we’ve had the ‘new car’ on a two-mile speedway. There are still a lot of unknowns, but the extra track time on Thursday will help everyone out and gives us the opportunity to work on the car’s handling and make adjustments.”
