SMOKE VS. SAID: On lap 66 at the Glen, Boris Said’s No. 83 Red Bull
Toyota went for the same piece of pavement that Tony Stewart was trying for
in turn two. But as Said said, “our two deals collided.” He went spinning —
the No. 83’s rear end hitting hard into the guardrail — and finished 38th.

BACK IN THE NO. 83: Reed Sorenson drove the No. 83 in five consecutive
races before giving way to Said’s road-course expertise. But he’s back
this weekend at Michigan, where he finished fifth and eighth in his 2006
rookie season.

VITAL SIGNS: The No. 83 ranks 26th in the owner standings — 68 points
from 26th.

SHOW ME THE CAR FACTS: In the No. 83’s seven Michigan races since
2007, the car has finished ninth or better five times. The No. 83 has won
three poles, only once started worse than 18th and has led 88 laps.
