Reed went to Erie PA with high expectations for the ASA 250 lap event, but his night took a turn for the worst around lap 130.
Passing for third place, the #29 Target/Texaco/Havoline took his Dodge Intrepid inside Butch Miller and the two touched. Reed's suffered right-front damage and the steering rack was moved, not sure of underlying problems he felt might exist, he brought the Target Dodge down pit road and made adjustments to continue the race.
Despite being several laps down to the leaders, Reed maintained a competitive car to finish the race a disappointing 21st.
Reed an as high as second during the middle portion race and completed his two mandatory pit stops as planned before lap 200 of 250.
The weekend was not a total disappointment, as Reed qualified 3rd and ran 4th in his first ARCA event at Lowes Motor Speedway on Thursday May 27th. He appeared to have the dominate car and led 54 laps until debris on the track caused damage to the front of the #77 Sherwin Williams Dodge and handling of the car went away with 7 laps remaining.
The RSR team moves North again to Mansfield, Ohio this Saturday night June 5th. Reed qualified on the pole and finished 3rd in last years event and looks forward to a successful weekend in race #5 of 16 for the ASA National Touring Series.
