BUSY TIME FOR REED WITH ARCA, ASA RACES IN ONE WEEKEND

Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates development driver and defending ASA Rookie of the Year, Reed Sorenson, is entered in the ARCA event at Lowe’s Motor Speedway Thursday.  Sorenson will pilot the No. 77 Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Dodge in the ARCA race for Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates.
“This will be my first time in a NEXTEL Cup type car,” Sorenson said.  “The team tested together the other day and we had a good time. I am excited that Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates and Sherwin-Williams is giving me the chance to race the ARCA series.  I think we have a good shot to win Thursday.”

Sorenson is currently running for the ASA National Championship in the No. 29 Target/Texaco/Havoline Dodge.  Sorenson is also expected to run two more ARCA races for Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates during the 2004 season.

Last season in ASA Reed recorded seven top-five and 14
top-10 finishes in 17 races.  He finished fourth in the final ASA National standings and won Rookie of the Year.

The ARCA race is scheduled for Thursday, May 27th at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.  The race can been seen LIVE on Speed Channel at 9 pm (ET).
Reed tested the #41 Fuji ARCA car at Charlotte a couple of weeks ago and was very fast.
Early Friday morning Reed will travel to Erie (PA) to take part in the open ASA test session planned for 1 pm at Lake Erie Speedway.   The commuter flights into the Erie airport can be a little unpredictable, but hopefully he and his luggage will make it this year.

The RSR team returns to the track with confidence.   Last fall marked the first visit for Reed to the beautiful facility and he still talks about how well he liked the track.

"I can't wait to go back to Erie this weekend.  We had a strong car their last year and we are going back with the same set up.  I am really looking forward to a good run."

Starting with Erie, the teams are facing three-straight weeks of racing in the Northeast and the points are really tight.
The #29 Target/Texaco Havoline prepared Dodge will be ready when the cars hit the track for the Memorial Day Weekend ASA event on Saturday May 29th on Speed Channel.
